TGC MEMBER OF THE YEAR 2026
HEATHER WHITE, MD
Heather was nominated by one of her two clubs, Burleson County Garden Club, from District V. She is also a member of A&M Garden Club, Far Corners Garden Study Club (Dist IV), Houston Area FSJ (Dist IV), and has been active at TGC at the District, State, Region and National level with positions on all these boards.
She currently serves as Zone II Director in District V, TGC Chaplain and on several committees, as well as the South Central Region Recording Secretary.
She joined TGC in 2007 when she retired, and jumped right in. She is a 5-Star member and has worked at TGC Headquarters for the last few years to improve the grounds. She has contributed to projects that received District and NGC funding including the Never Forget Garden Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in College Station. Her current project is the relocation and improvement of a Blue Star Marker. She co-chaired the 2025 Fall Convention in Ft. Worth and was instrumental in the new club addition of BCGC to TGC in 2025. She has been active in other civic and community organizations including: PEO International, Eastern Star, a non-federated Evening Garden Club, LaVillita Chapter NSDAR, Family Promise, and the Methodist Church. Heather sums up her feelings about TGC “I believe in the mission, and I do my best to fulfill it”.
